01 Oct.09 : Youth Force For Better India (YFBI) has received prestigious "GAURAV PURASHKAAR" award for the continuous movement of encouraging people to donate blood on the occasion of Rashtriya Swaichhick Raktdaan Divas – National Self Willing Blood Donation Day from KEM hospital.
The Blood Bank of the K.E.M. Hospital, is the largest blood bank in Mumbai and one of the largest blood centers’ in Asia. Almost 30,000 units of blood are collected annually and separated into components. The Blood Bank is licensed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
With close to 200 entries from various NGO’s and colleges, KEM committee found YFBI as one of the promising group. YFBI has organized around 30 Blood donation camps which were conducted at Railway station, hospitals, colleges and other venues. YFBI won award solely for its consistent effort.
On receiving this recognition it gives us immense pleasure to receive the Gaurav Puraskaar Award, especially since this recognizes the spirit of youth which YFBI has always nurtured. We accept this accolade on behalf of our team, which works relentlessly on youth development as we believe that youth has immense potential and responsibility lies with new generation who can really make a difference in the fast decaying and changing social structure around us which can then provide a superior living experience.
